A curious building on the left-hand side of the road from Lekeitio to Aulesti, near the Oleta neighbourhood of Amoroto, on the banks of the River Lea. It is in currently in ruins. If you visit without knowing what it was, it may seem strange due to its poor state of repair.
It is a large, two-storey building with masonry walls and a quadrangular floor plan. In its day, it was a key part of the region’s health infrastructure (Lekeitio, Amoroto, Gizaburuaga, Ispaster and Mendexa) Its current location makes it seem more off the beaten track than it actually is, since the road accentuates its remoteness.
